When it comes to the details of car audio modification, the interior space of the car is also exquisite. To modify a HiFi system in a very small space, we must carefully study the equipment matching, and we must have a deep understanding of the characteristics of the product in order to modify an excellent HiFi sound system.

 

Today, we received the audio modification of a Toyota 86 sports car. The customer’s requirements for clear and full sound quality and strong bass. It is indeed an owner with high requirements. If other models are better matched, because the Toyota 86 is a sports car and the space inside the car is too small. It is not easy to change a set of sound effects that meet customer requirements. The HiFi sound system The requirements for the playback host are very high, and the customer also requires that the playback host must have CarPlay function. Finally, the customer chose the Pioneer Z 5250 BT host. Let’s share my experience with you about the performance of this host.

Due to the customer’s requirements for sound effects, we recommend a set of such modification solutions:

1 Host: Pioneer Z 5250 BT multimedia player host

3 Front sound field speaker: Aiwei 62 C high-performance two-way active speaker, the tweeter covers a very wide frequency band (350 HZ-20 KHZ), which is one of the technical highlights of this speaker unit.

4 Subwoofer: American Laifu P series 8-inch unit (box customization)

5 speaker power amplifier: Aiwei’s four-channel flagship class meets HiFi standards in terms of appearance and sound quality. The output power reaches 160 watts per channel. While high power, the sound performance is delicate and soft, and the dynamic performance of the sound line is very balanced.

Let’s first introduce the installation details of the horn of the door. First, customize the horn gasket with the same shape as the original car.

The prepared horn gasket is coated with sealant to prevent air leakage and water ingress, and has a very good effect on earthquake resistance.

It is fixed with hexagon socket stainless steel screws, and the quality is more durable.

The wiring of the horn wire is plugged into the straight terminal.

The last step is to apply the sealant.

When the equipment was modified to the rear trunk, the owner abandoned the spare tire and used the original spare tire position to modify a suitable subwoofer box. The general layout is shown in the figure below.

To talk about the effect of bass box, we should count the perforated box, but the technical requirements and high cost of manufacturing and modification of the perforated box are high. However, the bass effect will have more dive depth than that of the closed box. The bass has a sense of volume and elasticity, and the rhythm response when the bass is large and dynamic is fast. Therefore, the bass modification of the sound system should try to choose the perforated box.

After the bass cabinet is modified, it is how to fix it, which is also a job to test the modification experience. The bass box has a large vibration amplitude, and if it is well fixed, the bass effect will be enhanced, thus reducing the loss of low frequency by vibration. We use a nail-free glue to fix the bottom plate first, Present Triangle, with a screw in the middle to lock the spare tire. This wave of operation is as stable as Mount Tai!

The subwoofer unit is installed, and a little sound-absorbing cotton is placed inside the box, so as to increase the volume of the box and achieve the low-frequency effect required by itself.
